CASO Station St. Thomas

Published

on

Now this building is not abandoned, thankfully it was restored and re-purposed. What a tragedy it would have been if this building would have been lost. This Train station is a very important part of our railway history and for the time was a mammoth station considering the size of St. Thomas at the time it was built. Construction started in 1871 and finished in 1873.

Published

on

I posted this abandoned train station earlier this summer and recently did a revisit of the location to get some more photos as the rumour grapevine has it that this old abandoned train station will be demolish soon. While I was there I did notice that a large telephone pole at the rear of the building has been removed and some of the wire disconnected. This could be preparation for demolishing the old decaying building. Here are the photos from my most recent visit.

The location of this old abandoned train station can be found on our Abandoned Places in Ontario Map.
